Kim Jong-un: A new intercontinental ballistic missile system will be developed, and nuclear warheads will be added in geometric progression.

On the last day of 2022 and the first day of 2023, North Korea launched three super-large multi-barrel rockets into the eastern waters of the Korean Peninsula respectively. Prior to this, Kim Jong-un, the top leader of North Korea, said that in order to deal with hostile forces such as the United States and South Korea, a new intercontinental ballistic missile system will be developed and the number of nuclear warheads will be increased geometrically.

According to a report by Korean Central News Agency on the 1st, from December 26th to 31st, 2022, the sixth plenary session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea was enlarged, and Kim Jong-un, the top leader of the DPRK, attended and presided over the plenary session and made a report. He pointed out that after entering 2022, the United States frequently introduced various nuclear strike means and deployed them to South Korea to increase the pressure on North Korea. South Korea has aggressively expanded its armaments in response to the so-called "threat", frantically engaged in hostile military activities, and adopted a confrontational posture to challenge. The enemy is carrying out isolation and strangulation activities against the DPRK that have never been seen before in human history.

Kim Jong-un said that the current situation urgently requires North Korea to redouble its efforts to strengthen repressive military forces. In his report, he put forward the strategy and intention of strengthening nuclear force, "the task of developing another intercontinental ballistic missile system with the basic mission of rapidly implementing nuclear counterattack capability." South Korea has become the clear "main enemy" of North Korea. The current situation highlights the importance and necessity of mass production of tactical nuclear weapons, and "requires us to increase the number of national nuclear warheads geometrically".

On the day and the day after the enlarged meeting of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, North Korea used super-large rockets to launch rockets into the eastern waters of the Korean Peninsula. Kim Jong-un said that this super-large rocket launcher with a caliber of 600 mm has high terrain overcoming ability, maneuverability and sudden and repeated precision strike ability, which puts the whole of South Korea within the range and can also carry tactical nuclear warheads. It is the "core attack weapon" of the North Korean armed forces.
